cz.mirucotejiji.gq Hugo, despite his own moral discrepancies, works and works on each of us to recognize the necessity for pathos and sympathy for each human being, especially against a class system that seems insurmountable. Charles Dickens had much the same aim, and his chidhood experiencing the horrors of living in an English workhouse acutely inform his work. Hugo's work is incredibly important to the study of social class and human nature, and a complete volume like this is an incredible gift: If "Les Miserables" alone is maybe pages, just think: You have it all, and much more, right there on your Kindle.
It's a steal.
When I saw this offering I simply didn't believe it, but for this price I was willing to pay just to look. And sure enough, all nine novels are there in English! Another incredible example of the internet's unprecedented power to disseminate civilization's finest literature at 3rd world prices. While college becomes more and more unaffordable, fortunately education continues to be more and more available. In keeping with the usual high standards of Delphi editions, this one has an easy to follow index of contents, categorised by novels, poetry and plays, with additional non-fiction, criticisms and biographies of the author, and sub-divided within those categories.
There is an opportunity to read in either French or English.

In Hugo's day the author was able to stray from his story and give his opinion on anything he pleased, quite without bearing on the story; the advantage of a Kindle edition is it permits one to skip over the irrelevancies should one wish, or read them if one wants to know about France in Victor Hugo's time. There is in fact an extraordinary amount of material made available to the Kindle reader, together with some interesting old photographs, pictures, engravings and reproductions of published frontispieces.
That said, really looking forward to reading this expansive and very interesting set. Great Value for the money. One problem though.
